LXsub4 provides extremely powerful bass drum strokes, that you may even feel in your chest. A LXsub4 pair is part of the LXstudio system, where it helps LXsirius in the lowest octaves below 60Hz. LXsub4 is the subwoofer of LX521.
LXstudio is 3-way loudspeaker that combines the LXsirius with two LXsub4 dipole subwoofers, which have 10 dB higher output capability than can be obtained from the LXsirius+2 configuration. A 10 dB increase is perceptually significant due to the ear’s very nonlinear hearing sensitivity to the lowest frequencies. With an LR2 crossover at a low 60 Hz the woofers can be placed against the side walls of a room and the LXsirius used as near-field monitors. Path length differences to the listener can be compensated for in the DSP unit. Dipole woofers have the advantage of less room mode excitation, which matters even in a highly damped recording/mixing studio.
The frequency range extends from 25 Hz to 20 kHz. The horizontal and vertical off-axis frequency response, which is heard via the room, is spectrally neutral. Thus, listening off-axis merely changes the viewing angle to the phantom acoustic scene rendered by the seemingly absent loudspeakers.
The LXstudio was designed for a mixing studio application (symphonic music), where the conventional large box monitor loudspeakers gave uneven response, especially at low frequencies, despite the studio being highly damped and relatively large.
The LXstudio performs sonically like the LX521®, and comes close to the full-range dipole’s ultimate refinement of sound presentation.

To the system -with all woofer drivers installed- usually ships in an airfreight container.
The insurea airfreight rates to the US vary: usually 900-2200€.
If you select the cheaper parcel shipping (4 parcels, limit:30kg each), the upper woofers will ship in an extra parcel and need to be inserted after delivery with 8 bolts and nuts.
