AXPONA 2026 Recap: LINKWITZ Holographic Sound & The LX521.4MG & LXmini

APR 10-12, 2026

The biggest US show.

The outstanding replay quality with “economic” sources
points to the relevance of the proper speaker system LX521.4 neoMG
and LXmini with PowerBox 6pro Ncore Precision Analog.

With a decent analog signal, the results can be stunning.

A big THANK YOU to the LINKWITZ team and to all our visitors.

Thank you for the many individual “Best Of Show” comments we received.

A recap of our unforgettable weekend in Chicago, featuring the magic of the LX521.4 neoMG, masterclass recordings, and our passionate community.

We just returned from AXPONA 2026 in Chicago, and the echoes of this remarkable weekend are still giving us goosebumps.
If there is one thing this year’s show proved, it is that you do not need a millionaire’s budget or a heavily treated acoustic fortress to experience absolute audio truth.
You just need the right physics.

A True Family Gathering

This year’s presence was a true family affair, and you can see the joy in our team photos! We were incredibly proud to have our global Lounge Hosts and experts on-site to guide listeners through our holographic soundscapes. The Dream Team included our fellows from LINKWITZ Lounges Annapolis, Fremont, Chicago, Stuttgart and …and a very special honor: Barry Diament and Mary from LINKWITZ Lounge New Preston.

Having Barry—a seasoned, legendary recording and mastering expert—in the room brought an invaluable dimension to our showcase.

The Hotel Room Illusion: Bypassing the Room

Take a look at the photos and videos we’ve uploaded. You’ll see our setup in a standard, everyday hotel room.
No esoteric, budget-breaking room treatments. No smoke and mirrors.

Yet, visitors sat in the darkened room, staring at the empty space between the speakers, shaking their heads in absolute disbelief.

The LX521.4 neoMG completely bypassed the room’s acoustic limitations.
The system threw a phantom image so authentic, deep, and realistic that the hotel walls seemingly vanished.

Sonic Highlights: Acoustic Truth Unveiled

  • The Masterclass: Barry Diament presented his new “One Mic” recording “Absence and her Sister ” from his own label, Soundkeeperrecordings. The sheer purity of a single-point stereo capture played back through the LX521.4 neoMG and LXmini is something that must be heard to be believed. Barry shared his expertise on minimalist microphone techniques and the importance of avoiding unnecessary compression.
  • The Contest Winners: Barry Diament announced the winner of the LINKWITZ Minimal Microphoning Medal Contest, presenting the winner track live for attendees.
Hearing the triumphant track by Lobos Solitarios from Argentina unfold in our room left the audience utterly spellbound.

The LINKWITZ “Knaller” (Showstopper) Perspective:
From a smart budget perspective, this system is our absolute “Knaller” (an undeniable premium banger). At AXPONA, you will easily find rooms filled with gear costing upwards of $500,000.

But true value isn’t about being cheap; it’s about paying for brilliant physics rather than marketing fluff. The LX521.4 neoMG is a premium, end-game investment that consistently outperforms systems costing five to ten times as much. It delivers a priceless, million-dollar holographic illusion for a fraction of the cost.

The Giant-Killer in the Left Room: LXmini & PowerBox LXmini
While the right room hosted our premium “Knaller,” the left room delivered an entirely different kind of shockwave.

Here, we demonstrated the brilliant LXmini system, driven by the dedicated PowerBox LXmini.
For the fiercely budget-conscious audiophile, this setup was enthusiastically celebrated as the absolute “best bang for the buck” of the entire show.

We decided to have a little fun and play a guessing game with our captivated listeners.
After experiencing the vast, detailed, and utterly transparent soundstage,
we asked them: “Based on what you just heard, how many dollars does this system sound like?”

The consensus? Visitors consistently estimated its sonic value at an average of $12,000.
The sheer disbelief on their faces when they learned its actual, highly accessible price point was one of the weekend’s absolute highlights.
It is the ultimate proof that superior acoustic engineering will always outsmart a bloated budget.

Voices from the Web: “Best of Show”

The feedback we received on-site was overwhelmingly positive, with countless individuals pulling us aside to give us their personal “Best of Show” compliments. But don’t just take our word for it—the online forums have been buzzing since the show wrapped:

“Linkwitz always wins for me. These are def my end game… One of the best values at the show.”
— Audiophile Community on Reddit

“Linkwitz was really good… they fit into the top 3 in the money-no-object category, including those 5-10x the price.”
— AXPONA 2026 Attendee

“Excellent depth and spatial capabilities. The LX521s completely disappear in the room.”
— Audio Science Review (ASR) Forums

Behind the Scenes Media

Our demo frontend at AXPONA consisted of HQ Player embedded on a laptop with a LAN connection to a NAA endpoint.
USB connected the NAA endpoint to the discrete 1-bit direct DSD DAC Topping D-900.
Volume control by HQplayer.

Thank you to everyone who visited us in Chicago.
You proved that the pursuit of natural, realistic sound is alive and well.
